Welcome to your new job: Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed Lieutenant-General Tom Lawson, pictured on the Hill last Monday, as Canada’s new chief of defence staff. Mr. Lawson will have his hands full with the F-35 procurement and budget cuts to the Department of National Defence in his new job. Military observers say he’s ‘intelligent’ and will do a good job in his new role.
