Nobody’s happy: government releases new flight crew fatigue rules amid stakeholder opposition

Airline industry group calls the new regulations cherry-picked science, pilots unions say it they don't go far enough, and aviation policy academic questions the science used to justify the government's proposed flight crew fatigue regulations.

The government's new flight crew fatigue regulations were released at the end of June, giving stakeholders until Oct. 13 to provide feedback. The proposed rules suggest a number of changes, including cutting pilots' flying hours from 1,200 to 1,000 in a calendar year. The Hill Times file photograph
