Angus Reid’s survey actually shows high level of support for our diverse society

The newsworthy story is that Canadians believe immigrants should integrate, two to one, and that they generally like the way they are integrating, two to one.

Much is being made of a new Angus Reid poll on the attitudes of Canadians towards minorities, coming out as it does on the heels of Kellie Leitch’s, pictured right with former Conservative MP Ted Menzies, plan to test immigrants on 'anti-Canadian' values. Polling people’s attitudes on diversity is always a good thing as the mood does change from time to time, depending on the issues that face us. The Hill Times photograph by Jake Wright
