The Canadian government announced its National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in early August, in a ceremony in Ottawa. Today, Sisters in Spirit, a research, education, and policy project led by indigenous women will hold their annual vigil to honour missing and murdered indigenous women in Canada.
