RCMP used cadets for Hill security for two years after 2014 shooting

Cadets were used to meet 'unexpected operational demands' following the Oct. 22, 2014 shooting on Parliament Hill, says an RCMP spokesperson. The Parliamentary Protective Service is forming a ‘special response’ team that will eventually assume some of the duties of regular force RCMP.
