Trudeau’s cabinet style: he gives his ministers ‘as much rope,’ but pulls it back if they do something wrong

More meetings involving all cabinet ministers are among the signs that this Liberal cabinet has a more collaborative style than was the case in the Harper government.

Cabinet members such as, from the left, Fisheries Minister Hunter Tootoo, Environment Minister Catherine McKenna, Trade Minister Chrystia Freeland, Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion, Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly, International Development Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan, and Public Safety Minister are being given much leeway in their operations by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, according to lobbyists.
