Non-partisan Senators, my eye!

For the past few days, a small group of Senators who have deserted, or have been expelled from, their political party have been trying to convince the Canadian public that they have seen the light, that they will be the saviors of the Senate because their independent status gives them a “credibility” that the other Senators are lacking. What drivel!

Partisan politics is not a disease. It forms the basis of a democratic political system where ideas are debated and the majority party governs, says Quebec Conservative Sen. Jean-Guy Dagenais.
