Conservative leadership candidates could have tougher time raising big bucks in 2017 run, say political insiders

With the announcement of its leadership contest date, the Conservative Party almost doubles its membership fee.

Conservative MP Deepak Obhrai, former Conservative MP John Reynolds and former deputy chief of staff Keith Beardsley say that fundraising ability indicates how much support a candidate has at the grassroots level, amongst senior campaign organizers and parliamentarians.
