Libyan embassy in Canada dismisses CNN story showing African migrants sold into slavery as ‘swathed in doubts’

A groundbreaking report from CNN unearthing what appears to be a slave auction in Libya has sent shockwaves through the international community and drawn swift pushback from the country's leadership. CNN screenshot photograph

Libyan media had also reported in February that the country's ambassador to Canada, Fathi Baja, had been sacked of his posting and was investigated for financial crimes—moves made by two different governments.
