Conservatives could lose more than one Ottawa-area riding on Oct. 19

‘Pierre Poilievre may be the closest thing we have to an urban Ottawa seat when this is done,’ said one Conservative.

Three-term Conservative incumbent Royal Galipeau is in tough against Liberal candidate Andrew Leslie and NDP candidate Nancy Tremblay in Ottawa-Orléans. In former Foreign Affairs minister John Baird’s old riding of Ottawa West-Nepean, Conservative candidate Abdul Abdi is running hard against Liberal candidate Anita Vandenbeld and NDP candidate Marlene Rivier. In Gordon O’Connor’s old and recently rejigged riding of Kanata-Carleton, Conservative candidate Walter Pamic is running against Liberal Karen McCrimmon and NDP candidate is John Hansen. ‘It’s going to be a very, very challenging evening for some of the Conservative candidates in the Ottawa area,’ said one Conservative. The Hill Times photograph by Jake Wright
