It’s election time: be careful out there

The Harper government is more at odds with Canadians over public health care than they are on any other issue. And pharmacare demonstrates this in spades.

A case in point was a recent statement by federal Health Minister Rona Ambrose, which recently captured the party’s use of populism to bamboozle voters when she declared, ‘I believe that when it comes to the cost of prescription drugs, Canadians are being ripped off.’ Her declaration was one more instance of hypocrisy on the part of a government, which treats hypocrisy as a governing principle. The Hill Times photograph by Jake Wright
