Canada may be years away from having the infrastructure needed to export substantial volumes of energy to Europe, but experts say the European Union’s treatment of Canadian oil and Canada’s inability to strongly compete with Russia also stands in the way. The House Natural Resources Committee recently looked into whether Canadian producers could contribute to energy security in Ukraine and the rest of Europe, particularly by helping Europe to diversify away from energy imports from Russia.
