Liberal Senators talking to Conservative Senators about regional alliances in Upper Chamber, says Sen. Cowan

Liberal Senators, who were expelled from the party’s national caucus last month, have begun discussions that could result in regional alliances with Conservative Senators on economic or social issues across the country, The Hill Times has learned.

Liberal Sen. James Cowan told The Hill Times at the Liberal biennial policy convention on the weekend of possible regional alliances between Liberal and Conservative Senators. ‘I know Alberta Senators have talked amongst themselves, I’ve talked to other Nova Scotia Senators about working together.’ The Hill Times photograph by Jake Wright
